Tin Plating Pen (Micro-Metallizer)
Plate tin over any metallic surface (not aluminum or chromium). Widely used in electronics for solderability enhancement.
Plate tin over any metallic surface (not aluminum or chromium). Widely used in electronics for solderability enhancement.
The Tin Plating Pen is primarily an electronics-industry tool, used to restore or apply tin coatings on PCB pads, component leads, terminals, and lugs to keep them solderable. Old or oxidized tin surfaces become difficult to wet with solder; selectively re-plating with this pen restores normal soldering behavior without reworking the entire board.
Also used outside electronics for general corrosion protection on copper, brass, and steel components that would oxidize too quickly otherwise.
Plates directly over most metals; aluminum and chromium are the two exceptions. Requires Absorbent / Degreaser pen for surface preparation.
