The Heavy Duty Silver Pen is the workhorse for silverware restoration — large surface areas (trays, serving pieces, tea sets) consume electrolyte at a rate that makes the standard Silver pen (PL-1008) impractical.
Also used for large-area electrical contact plating in industrial switchgear and busbar applications, where standard-pen capacity would require frequent cartridge swaps.
Silver plates directly onto most substrates without an intermediate layer; only aluminum and chromium require alternative chemistry. Requires Absorbent / Degreaser pen for surface preparation.
