Stainless steel does not respond to the standard Absorbent / Degreaser pen (PL-1002). Its surface chemistry — passivation layer, chromium content — requires a specialized degreaser, which this pen provides.
Used before any plating work on stainless steel substrates: medical instruments, food-service equipment, marine hardware, and industrial components built from stainless. After this prep, follow with the appropriate plating pen for the target finish.
Requires the Micro-Metallizer power supply and connector cables. This pen is purely a prep step — it does not deposit any plating layer itself.
